Winter Weather Craft Day - Beloved Bouquet Card Set

I'm still getting over the jet lag from our trip to Sweden.  The weather here has been sunny and beautiful, and yet I've been sleeping away the daylight.

Then this morning, we woke up and thought we were back in Sweden.   Snow!!

Not just falling flakes, but actual white stuff all over the place sticking to the ground!

Seriously, it was a beautiful blue sky day yesterday.   So confusing.

Anyway, it is my last day off before going back to work, and since we are now experiencing PDX Blizzard 2016 (yes, this is a major storm for us weather wimps in Portland), I took the opportunity to have some craft time.

Instead of just dragging all my supplies out and making a big mess, I actually finished SIX CARDS!   Holy productive snowday, Batman!

These cards are "scraplifted" from Denise, one of our awesome Australian Close To My Heart consultants.   She has a great blog called Scrap Stamp Share.   Imitation is the best form of flattery, right?

I made a few minor tweaks, using a mix of White Shimmer Trim and some of our NEW Black and Gold Ribbon.   I also used a variety of sentiments from different stamp sets.   Complete recipe is included below.

This set features the beautiful January 2016 Stamp of the Month, Beloved Bouquet (S1605).  It is available only for this month and for only $5 with your $50 order (or you can purchase it separately for $17.95).  This set features layered stamping, providing a background solid image and an outline image to stamp over the solid.  Since all of our My Acrylix stamps are clear, it is super easy to line them up on your paper.

To order this set, just add $50 worth of products to your cart at, and the system will prompt you to add this set for only $5.  If you'd rather purchase it alone, it can be purchased for $17.95.

A Hoot For You! Sangria Owl

A while ago I wanted to stamp some cute owls.  I couldn't find 'the perfect' stap, so I started looking at all my stamps for inspiration.  One of the circles in the "So Many Smiles" set reminded me of owl eyes, and I ran with it from there.

The wings, beak, and ears are from D1677 "Friend Tree".  The body, eyes, and "you are a"  are from C1619 "So Many Smiles".

The ink colors I used were to coordination with the beautiful Close To My Heart Sangria set:  Pomegranate, Eggplant, Cocoa, and Poppy.   You could do it in any variety of colors for a fun and different look!

I used foam tape to attach the different layers for added dimension.

Here is a card I made using one of the owls!

I would love to see the creations this post inspires you come up with.  Please post yours in the comments!!

Swap Set - Layout: Elegant Halloween

Here is the final piece for my Nevermore swap set.  This is a beautiful new Halloween-themed set featured in our first ever Holiday Expressions Idea Book!   The paper and accessories are available now through December 31st, so grab them now in time for Halloween!

This scrapbook layout is 8" x 8", which is a great size for a special smaller album you may have.  It is also easy to mail (such as if grandparents have albums they need layouts sent for!).  It is also easily transferred onto a 12" x 12" layout by putting it on a larger piece of cardstock as a mat and adding embellishments around the edges as desired.

Swap Set - Card #3: Celebrate with T-Rex

Here is the third card for my Nevermore swap set.  This is a beautiful new Halloween-themed set featured in our first ever Holiday Expressions Idea Book!   The paper and accessories are available now through December 31st, so grab them now!

I have been dying to use this adorable new dinosaur stamp set from the new 2015-2016 Idea Book, and I wanted to challenge myself to use the Nevermore paper packet for a non-Halloween project.   This card came together with a fun and masculine twist and could be used for a number of occasions.
